Raised in the Pacific Northwest, she began her musical journey busking on the streets of Seattle, where her powerful voice and honest storytelling forged deep connections with listeners and shaped her signature sound—a bold fusion of soul, blues, indie folk, and rock. Her artistry has led her from street corners to international tours, collaborations with the Seattle Symphony, and festival stages like Newport Folk Festival with Black Opry. Mongé’s work has been featured in the award-winning documentary Find Your Way: A Busker’s Documentary and across four acclaimed releases, including Steadfast (2014), Stone (2017), Carry On (2018), and Whitney Mongé Live with The Seattle Symphony (2021). In 2024, after Hurricane Helene forced her to leave Asheville, Mongé relocated to Nashville, marking a new chapter in her career. That year she released the single What Would Love Do Now, became a finalist in the Arium Sounds of Summer competition, and won the 2025 Cayamo Soundcheck Contest. She is currently touring the U.S. and writing her debut full-length album, set for release in 2027.
